Messi Double Secures Victory for Inter Miami

Messi Scores Twice Again to Lead Inter Miami Past Nashville in MLS

Lionel Messi continued his historic scoring streak in Major League Soccer on Saturday, netting two goals for the fifth consecutive game to lift Inter Miami to a 2-1 victory over Nashville SC.

Just days after becoming the first player to score multiple goals in four straight MLS matches, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner extended that record to five consecutive games. Messi has now scored 16 goals in 16 matches this season, tying with Nashville’s Sam Surridge at the top of the MLS scoring chart.

The Argentine superstar opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a signature left-footed free kick, perfectly placed through a narrow gap in Nashville’s defensive wall and beyond goalkeeper Joe Willis.

Miami’s win pushes them up to fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, continuing their strong run of form after a break from league play due to participation in the Club World Cup.
