Last message of murdered Anas Al-Sharif released

On the official X profile of the murdered Al Jazeera journalist Anas Al-Sharif, his last message, which he composed a few months ago, was published.

As stated, journalist Al-Sharif drafted this will on April 6, 2025, and requested that it be published in the event of his death.

“This is my will and my final message. If these words reach you, know that Israel has succeeded in killing me and silencing my voice. First, may peace be upon you and the mercy and blessings of Allah. Allah knows that I have put all my effort and all my strength into being a support and a voice for my people, since I opened my eyes to life in the alleys and streets of the Jabaliya refugee camp. I hoped that Allah would prolong my life so that I could return with my family and loved ones to our original city of occupied Asqalan (Al-Majdal). However, Allah’s will was first, and His decision is final. I have experienced pain in all its details, tasted suffering and loss many times, but I have never hesitated to convey the truth as it is, without distortion or falsification – so that Allah can bear witness against those who remained silent, those who accepted our killing, those who suffocated us and whose hearts were not touched by the scattered remains of our children and women, doing nothing to stop the massacre which our people have been facing for more than a year and a half,” Al-Sharif stated.

“I entrust you with Palestine – the jewel in the crown of the Muslim world, the heart of every free person in this world. I entrust you with its people, its injustice and its innocent children who never had time to dream or live in safety and peace. Their pure bodies were crushed under thousands of tons of Israeli bombs and missiles, torn apart and scattered across walls. I call on you not to let chains silence you, nor borders hold you back. Be bridges to the liberation of the land and its people, until the sun of dignity and freedom shines on our stolen homeland. I entrust you to take care of my family. I entrust you with my beloved daughter Sham, the light of my eyes, whom I never had the opportunity to watch grow up the way I dreamed,” he said.

He looked back at both the mother and the son.

“I entrust to you my dear son Salah, whom I wanted to support and accompany through life until he was strong enough to carry my burden and continue the mission. I entrust to you my beloved mother, whose blessed prayers brought me to where I am, whose prayers were my fortress and whose light guided my path. I pray that Allah grants her strength and rewards her with the best rewards on my behalf,” the message reads.

“I also entrust to you my lifelong companion, my beloved wife, Umm Salah (Bayan), from whom the war separated me for many long days and months. Yet she remained faithful to our bond, firm as an olive tree trunk that does not bend – patient, trusting in Allah, and bearing responsibility in my absence with all her strength and faith. I call upon you to stand by them, to be their support after Allah Almighty. If I die, I die firm in my principles. I bear witness before Allah that I am content with His decree, certain of meeting Him, and convinced that what is with Allah is better and more eternal. O Allah, accept me among the martyrs, forgive my past and future sins, and make my blood a light that illuminates the path of freedom for my people and my family. Forgive me if I have erred and pray for me with mercy, for I have kept my promise and have never changed or failed it. Do not forget Gaza… And do not forget me in your sincere prayers. prayers for forgiveness and acceptance,” the message concludes.
